Hello,
I've been considering a Toyota Stout 2024 for my next vehicle. I was considering a used Tacoma, but I really like the Stout because I feel it will have better milage and want something brand new. I currently drive a 2015 Toyota Prius and don't have a need for a big truck or something that can tow large loads. I've really like the Prius, but I've moved out of the city and can really use something that can travel over a dirt roads. I also want something that can better haul a kayak or canoe. My friend has a Ford Maverick, but the Stout seems to have everything I need and I am under the impression that Toyota delivers a more durable product than Ford. The other vehicles I've been considering are the Subaru Brat (also 2024) or a used Toyaota Tacoma. What are your thoughts on the compact truck market (in general) and the Toyota Stout (specifically).
Thanks!
Well it's extremely new, I mean hasn't entered the market yet. But based on track record I would say avoid the Maverick and either go with a Tacoma or wait for the Stout. From what I've read the Stout will most likely have the same engine and transmission as the Rav4 which is a solid one. And as for starting point the speculations are around $24k so either wait for the Stout or pay $4k more and get a brand new base Tacoma.
Another note: I live in FL. My friend has convinced me that I need 4WD because he had a flood on his property and needed a tow truck to tow his truck off his front lawn. What do you feel is the best compact truck with 4wd on the market.
