Toyota Unicorn question

Hello Scotty...

Thanks for keepin it real.

I just bought a unicorn....2004 4Runner SR5 V6 with 108k miles.  4WD.  Automatic. Based on the research I've done at your urging, I believe this one has a timing chain.   One owner and no accidents.  Safety and emissions done in VA in Nov 24.  Looks like it was driven every other week to church.   I think I found a legitimate way to determine if the low mileage is legit on an older car:  If the gas door hinge is so rusted that it won't open.  I fixed that by gently removing the whole assembly from the car, driving out the old, rusted hinge pin and hand machining a new hinge pin.  Anyway....blah blah blah.

Here's my question:

I've been keeping a 1999 Camry alive through 360k and know a bit about general maintenance.   The Carfax has 18 oil changes listed with the latest done in Nov 24.  Other maintenance....who knows?  With this mileage and age, is there any maintenance item that I should be focusing on?

I really enjoy your work.  Keep it going as long as it's fun and profitable.

Thanks,

PP

congrats that's a nice unit.

Check out our maintenance section in the FAQ. 4WD drivetrains have several more components than your Camry, which require maintenance of their own. The front and rear axles and transfer case all have around 1.5-2 quarts of their own respective lubricants, which need to be changed out periodically.
