It's pretty cheap for something that runs and drives but then again it's a 17-18 year-old economy car. The fact that there is no check engine light is meaningless when it comes to evaluating its true condition. You need a good mechanic to give that thing a thorough examination before purchase.

Price looks suspiciously low to me. But like chuck said it is a low end economy car. Could just be my location, but I’m looking a bunch of them listed for 4-5k some with higher mileage. Get it thoroughly inspected by a mechanic and if they say it’s a good car then you’ve got yourself a good deal.

Side note, I rented a 2012 Yaris sedan (basically the same car; same generation) on Turo a few weeks ago and my opinion is it’s a bare bones, down to earth commuter car. Some may find it lacking in some features, but if you just need something cheap and reliable just to get you where you’re going then it’s a great car for that. It’s small and gets excellent gas mileage. The one I rented was a 4 speed automatic (they also came in a 5 speed manual) and it had the selection of L 2 3 and regular Drive, so you could bang through all the gears like it’s an auto manual without knowing how to drive a manual like me. Had a lot of fun doing that and using all 106 HP it offers. I guess because it’s small and light, but for a car with a 1.5 L engine and a 4 speed automatic it’s not terribly slow.
