Hello everyone,
I have 2014 Honda CRV with 70K kms on it. My car has a VCT actuator problem and heard it would cost $1~2000 for repair. I went to Toyota dealership yesterday and saw 2013 Toyota Venza with 91K kms for $22000.
I want a car doesn’t require a lot of repairs or something doesn’t break down.
If my car value is above $22000, would it be worth trading it?
Sincerely

You want to spend $20,000 extra for a supposed $2000 fix?!
A quick google search shows it’s an estimated $1000 job (on average) - https://www.vehiclehistory.com/questions/whats-the-cost-for-a-honda-crv-vtc-actuator-replacement-656024
The CR-V is a good car, buying the Toyota would be a waste of money.

Too much in my opinion for a nine year old car. The only way I would consider trading is the new Rav4 gasoline only version which is $27k msrp. If your car is worth enough that it breaks even and you can use the $1k or $2k for repair for the difference between your cr-v and the new Rav4 then it could be worth considering.
