Tranny slipping into neutral in my 2002 Camry

Hi. I have an 02 Camry with the 3.0 v6. From time to time when going into to reverse it will slip into neutral. I have taken the car to 3 shops and everyone says nothing is wrong with the car.  It only has 130k miles on it. I've also had the tranny serviced. Any suggestions on what might be causing this. Thanks David

I've also had the tranny serviced.

Did it happen after the service?

It happened before and after

Automatic or manual transmission???

It's an automatic

Does the shifter physically move into the neutral position or does the transmission just stop providing power when in reverse?

Chuck the shifter doesn't move. When it happens it will jerk a bit and not move then it works fine. After it may be months or weeks before it happens again.

I'm not familiar with that transmission but it sounds like a hinky shift solenoid or something sticking in the valve body.

Thanks Chuck

It's an automatic. It was doing it before it was serviced. But it's rare that it happens.  It has plenty of fluid
