Hey Scotty I bought a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon gt v6 in 2013 with 91,000 miles. It’s at 151,000 now. Should I get a transmission change or a flush? I’ve read blogs saying don’t do a transmission flush on high mileage cars. Please enlighten me sensei! 😁
Don’t do a flush!
there is even a risk at taking a few qrts and blending the EXACT AMOUNT back.
But you need to find where the drain and fill holes are.
Not sure if that’s a sealed transmission
my experience with Hyundai after TEN years or 100k miles is that they start having issues.
is there a reason your wanting to die this to the transmission?
@muddskipper
My transmission fluid is turning dirty. And doesn’t that mean i should at least change the automatic transmission fluid?
@muddskipper
No you have too many miles on the car. Changing it now could cause your transmission to start slipping and that's how auto's fail over time. Automatic's are really sensitive and if you mess up that transmission its going to cost thousands of dollars to fix potentially. Scotty has said multiple times. Please focus on the fluids on the rest of the vehicle.
@muddskipper
Thank you muddskipper 😁🤙🏼
Do you know the last time it was done?
@mountainmanjoe
No I bought it in 2013 at a Hyundai dealership so I have no clue if the dealership did a transmission change.
I flushed my last vehicle @ 120,000mi without issue.
