Transmission Code P0741

Recently, my check engine light came on and the code read P0741. I took it the transmission shop and they said it was a bad solenoid. After the evaluation, they said that the transmission wasn't holding pressure. Would this be an issue with leaking fluid inside the transmission? If so, would adding AT - 205 Reseal, possibly, fix this problem ? Thank you

No.

See possible causes for that code here:

Also, you left out a few details.

Sorry about that, '99 Buick LeSabre, automatic, 140,000 miles, transmission rebuilt 70,000 mi. Other than the tranny, it's in perfect working condition.

that can mean a lot of things. An automatic transmission is a hydraulic device (it's operated by fluid pressure).

There are DOZENS of valves inside of it

No. Don't do it.

After the evaluation, they said ...

that's it? they just said it wasn't holding pressure and sent you home? The transmission shop didn't offer you any solutions?

After their evaluation, they said that the transmission would either need to be rebuilt or a remanufactured transmission installed. It would cost between $3,000 - $4,000. I am weighing my options. Also, the current transmission was rebuild about 70,000 miles ago.

I guess that's past the warranty, huh?

Don't do rebuilds. They almost always fail.

Always ask for an off the shelf remanufactured and dyno tested transmission from a major supplier with good warranty.

Then make sure you service it regularly. (see FAQ for details).

If this shop knows what they're doing, then you might be out of luck. If you're not sure you trust them, get a 2nd opinion somewhere else.
