Scotty, I have a 2010 Rav4 with the 2.5L 2AR-FE engine and 197,000 miles. I'm getting ready to change my transmission fluid and filter. Is it ok to use non Toyota brand fluid such as Valvoline? Or, should I spend the extra money for the genuine Toyota fluid? Thanks!

use the Toyota stuff. You don't have to buy it often.

On transmissions I always go with OEM. They are arguably the most complicated and intricate hardware on a vehicle and best to stay with OEM fluid to give you the best chance at longevity.
