Transmission I.D. issue

2003 F250 5.4l auto trans, manual 4x4 (both selector & hubs)

Does anyone know a way of differentiating between the 2 auto transmissions that were available for the truck?

My cooler lines blew out during a test drive after I replaced all the defective brake hoses & lines today.

Called the parts dept at three dealers, claimed they had no way of decoding the VIN or knowing what it came with...Autozone listed a 4r100 or Powershift. There was something about teeth on a sprag gear as well but that requires disassembling the entire trans to find out.

The only markings are on the pan, it says metric & reusable gasket.

Going by the Ford data sheet for all 2003 vehicles the only info available was automatic, the VIN is 1FTNX21LX3EA35027 if that helps.

Everyone seems to be out of the fluid locally as well, plenty of dex/merc which only covered years prior to the AOD.
