2002 mazda protege has 134k miles
Has a used tranny from idk where from a while back it doesn't shift hard or anything but otw home we were doing 60 and it automatically downshift to neutral and I had us park and out it back in drive and it was fine but there was trans fluid like either squirted out or a hose popped off I'll be looking later for anything that had popped off but the fluid is black and idk if I can still do a fluid flush and would love some input

The transmission uses fluid pressure to shift and hold gears. It won't work properly if it looses that pressure.

If the fluid is black then the trans is probably a lost cause, so at this point you haven't much to lose.

Used transmission means you don't know how many actual miles are on the transmission. It could be shot.
Scotty doesn't recommend flushing transmissions. If what's left in the transmission is black too, then only add enough new fluid to get the fluid level correct and cross your fingers. Replacing that old fluid would likely only make things worse.the fluid is black and idk if I can still do a fluid flush and would love some input
