Scotty, i have a 98 ford explorer with the 4.0 SOHC. There seems to be a leak coming from the transmission cooler line going into the radiator. Do i fix the whole line assembly? I don’t know which part to replace. Thanks!
I am assuming that the the line started leaking due to rust. I would check the other lines for heavily rusted spots that may be prone to start leaking soon. If the other lines look fine, just replace the one.
I have a third generation 4Runner. Part of the radiator is used to cool the transmission fluid. After a while it’s possible for a seal to breakdown inside the radiator and transmission fluid start to mix with coolant. This is the worst thing that could happen and will total the engine.
If your vehicle has the same setup I would immediately take to a mechanic to have your radiator replaced.
