Hi Scotty, love watching your videos, I have Kia Sedona 2017. Runs perfectly fine I bought when it was 17k on odometer now it has 90k. Unfortunately I never changed transmission oil. Is this still good idea to change with this miles?
he is also advising changing transmission oil filter and gasket pan. Is that really necessary or he is trying to upsell? He said he would charge $300 for labor.
Yes you must maintain your transmission if you want it to last. Same as engine. See our FAQ.
FYI, I paid $200 total
Thanks for replying. My question is not about transmission oil. It's for filters and gasket pan because I never have changed for my previous cars.
I read your question. And it's very well explained in the FAQ as I mentioned.
Well you should have done it on your old cars too.
Yes I would change it but I would only use the Kia fluid you can buy at the dealer parts department
Thanks a lot for your quick answer! Appreciate your response 😃
I contacted one of the mechanic he is also advising changing transmission oil filter and gasket pan. Is that really necessary or he is trying to upsell? He said he would charge $300 for labor.
When changing your transmission fluid always change the filter and gasket. He is not trying to up sell you at all. Make sure you use Toyota fluid only, manufacturers use special additive packages in there fluid designed for transmissions. That will guarantee the longest life span as long as it is serviced properly.
Thank you all for your guide.
