TRANSMISSION PROBLEM 2008 RX350 LEXUS AWD

Hi Everyone,

I recently replaced the front struts and front lower control arms on a Lexus rx350 awd 2008. After installing the parts and took the car for a test drive I noticed the car was struggling to move I had to really press on the accelerator for it to move. When I got back to the shop the car stopped moving no reaction from the gear had to push the car to park it. So I pulled out my scan tool and got the code P2716. I did some research on the code and decided to check the transmission oil and it was totally black it even had a burning smell. So I decided to change the transmission filter and fluid but still, the car wouldn't move, no reaction when shifting through the gears so I asked around for help and somebody said I should remove the valve body on the transmission to see the state of the interior of the transmission. I noticed metal filings when removing the valve body and the color of some of the gears in the transmission were black don't know if that is normal. Most people I asked about this said I should just replace the transmission. What do you guys think? I need advice so I can make a decision on what to do and tell the customer.

Very few people know how to rebuild those transmissions correctly generally your best buying either remanufactured transmission or taking potluck with a used one from a salvage yard if the customers willing to drive that
