Having an issue with my father's 03 Lexus Es300 where 2nd gear hesitates at random when accelerating from a full stop. The transmission fluid was drained and filled as well as the transmission filter was replaced. There are no check engine light and the car has zero error codes. Lastly, the transmission fluid is clean and without metal shavings. So, what's the issue(s) and any way to fix this? Thank you..
you didn't give the mileage but second gear is always the first gear to go out on those transmission if it's really high mileage me I'd love with it because those transmission are relatively expensive to repair and few know how to actually rebuild them correctly
Oh man I feel bad for you I checked carcomplaints and found that the most common issue with the es300 is transmission failure happening at an average of 104,000 miles and costing owners on average $3700 to fix.
but that if for the 98 model year the newer ones have no reported transmission issues but this is not that accurate just look at it as a case by case as it is an old car.
the Lexus has 93k miles on them and maintained well throughout my father's ownership.
p.s. my father loves your youtube video!
