In my 2007 CRV, my tailgate is showing intermittently locked and the unlocked in my dashboard when I am driving. My trunk dome light is set to Door mode which means trunk light will be on when the door is open, and will be off when door closed including when I am driving. Unexpectedly, the trunk light is on when I am driving and door is showing open in the dashboard. This means that that the electrical system is detecting the door open and the light is on. When I was leaving the car, my security alarm came on, probably detecting the door open. Then I again locked the car and was able to come to my house. I am suspecting that the trunk door/hood still may not be locked properly. What to do?
Yeah sometimes just a switch is themselves break down but check especially the tailgate because a lot of time the latches will just flat wear out and need replacing
Thanks, Scotty. It's working now. The tailgate was not locking properly probably due to cargo mat touching the latch.
