How do you turn off the 'check engine' light after you fix the gas cap issue that was causing it? Gas cap was loose, tightened it, light still on. I don't have a scanning tool, so it would have to be another way. 2003 toyota camry, 4 cylinder. Thanks in advance!

If gas cap cause and only issue than check engine light will turn off on the next evap test.
Give it a day or two.

Find out if a mechanic or a part store can scan it for free to make sure there is no other problem. Such guessing is worse than lottery.
