Click sound when hitting brakes

Topic starter

This click sound near the brakes happens when coming to a slow complete stop. It does not produce the sound when you come to a hard stop. It sometimes makes the sound when you put your foot on the brake and press harder when the car's not moving you can hear this a little too. The sound happens only in (D) Drive. (Driver Side Front Wheel)

The dealership does not know what to do. The car has over 8000 miles a 2023 Mazda CX30. What is this sound?

The dealership does not know what to do.

Is the car under warranty? If so the dealer needs to get the Mazda corporate office involved to send out a regional technician to figure it out if they are unable to. Or, try a different dealer. (If the car is out of warranty find a good independent mechanic to look at it.)

Sounds like an actuator. But yeah, get it diagnosed while it’s still under warranty.

It could be the pads shifting. Is there any play between the pads and the pad retaining clips? Make sure that there is some lube where the pads contact and slide in the clips.

Good luck.
