Russian Ural motorcycles

Realize that it's still pretty much the same communist crap they made like 80 years ago.

We are talking about a stolen 90 year old BMW design used in WW2.

Adjusted for inflation, in the 1930's a REAL BMW R71 with a sidecar is about $10k in todays money,

The URAL? they're asking for $16k - that's what a reasonable brand new car used to cost until recently!

They're not good when it comes to reliability, anyone who has owned a soviet made car will tell you that.

Every part with a FIAT logo that broke on my Parents 2101, when replaced with a later soviet part turn into a consumable.

It's probably the same with this, very poor primitive manufacturing not even close to what the competitive market offers.

For that kind of money buy an ACTUAL new BMW motor cycle, you can get a "Heritage" model for that kind of cash.

OR even better a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R that will go 0-60 in 2.85 seconds and will last forever,

OR a used Honda VFR800 with VTEC for a FRACTION of the cost and 100 times the reliability.

Pretty much any motorcycle on that price level (or even half) beats the Ural.

Besides that, a heavy off-road sidecar motorcycle? it's a wired combination - they're only useful is for this event:

EDIT: thinking about it with that old of a design, and absolute lack of performance, even not useful for this...

I'd reckon a new Lada car costs less than what Ural is selling.

@Venator77 Yep! much more expensive than a Lada
A top spec Lada Vesta automatic (Jatco CVT) used to cost ~$14.5k in Europe a few years ago

And that's was for the model that's just a Renualt-Nissan in disguise, most models are cheaper.

(Their main "competitors" nowadays is Hyundai, Kia and Chinese cars all assembling in Russia - like the "HAVAL BIG DOG")

What basic is it just cheap copy of BMW twin motorcycles from many many decades ago. And I've seen him sold the United States of dealerships that way overpriced for the cheap crap that they are. The only reason the Russians drove them was cuz that was the only one they could get their hands on like the crappy little Russian made cars that even a Russians don't drive anymore

You will definitely have the only one in the neighborhood - kind of like having a kinda cranky classic bike, if that's what you want. This guy rode one at a classic bike event -

I've heard their quality used to shocking, but since the USSR's breakup, it's improved to disappointing.

There's a whole Ural channel on Youtube
