Hi everyone

i am buying a honda MDX 2004 260000kms (162500miles) for Aud1500. But the braking is slow as well as the check engine light is on but the car is running fine otherwise.

should i go for it or no also what could be wrong with the brakes ?

Clarification: Daily Driver?  How many years and miles do you need it to last you?

For fun and learning to drive suv might take a long trip

don't buy cars with check engine lights

Take it to a mechanic to find out what the engine light is or connect an obd2 scanner. The brakes are probably worn discs and/or brake pads.

Yes just bought a scan tool before paying i will scan lol. Mechanic would charge half of the car is worth here in sydney

I recommend you to watch these videos before buying it, they helped me a lot:
