Hi Scotty, I have been looking into getting a used Toyota Camry and found one I really liked. It’s a 1999 Toyota Camry LE 4 cylinder with 130,000 miles for $3,300. Claims it has no issues and no engine problems/light. I am on a budget and thought this was a good find. I was wondering what your thoughts were on this purchase as of the current year and if you had any advice on what to look out for when checking it out and/or finalizing my decision. Thank you Scotty! High price for a 25 year old Camry. FWIW, Kelley Blue Book shows lower prices on recent sales.
How long do you expect this 25-year-old car to last? Even if basically solid it's going to be developing problems due to age. Will you be working on it yourself? That makes it much more feasible to own an old car.
Don't believe anything the seller tells you. Have a good mechanic give it a thorough check before purchase. Given the car's age I'd try to get it cheaper.
