Hey scotty, love your channel. I'm looking at a used 2013 lexus IS300h with 68000 miles. It's not sold by a dealership, just a private sale. It's a 2.5L petrol hybrid.
What should I be checking and looking out for when I view the car?
Also how can I test the EV battery still has a good capacity and it's not just relying on gasoline?
Thanks
Clarification: Right now it has 68,000 miles on it. How many years and ADDITIONAL mileage do you need/hope to get out of it?
An additional 40-60k miles, probably want to keep it for 3-4 years if possible
It should be fine for the mileage you consider. Just make sure that you check the battery health before buying the car. This is an extra step besides checking the whole car by a mechanic.
How do you check the hybrid battery health?
Unfortunately, you can’t do it yourself. Have a mechanic check it with a dealer level scan tool.
