using 10/30 motor oil

am  i  doing  damage  to  my  2001  chevy  suburban 1500  5.3  eng  by  using  10/30  full  synthetic high mileage oil  instead of   5/30    i  have  200.000  miles

No, you are not doing damage with a caveat.  What temperature are you operating in?  If you are at 0 degrees F or lower you should only use 0W-30.  Above that 10W-30 is ok.  How do I know?  I checked pages 319-320 of your owner’s manual.

I would just use the oil they call for. But you’re probably not doing damage.

I highly recommend using the oil weight the manufacturer suggests in the owners manual and/or updated service bulletins.  

It probably won't do much damage since the weights are so close, but I personally wouldn't risk it.
