Scotty,
I own a 2006 Ford F-250 5.4 liter Triton engine with 114,000 miles. About 3 times a year for the past 2 years the truck will shut off all power from the radio to the gauge cluster for a little while or for a few miles regardless if I restart the truck or keep driving. I have taken this to my mechanic, the Ford dealership, and 3 other mechanics I don’t use and nobody has found any issue and of course it has ever shut off on hyphen. What could the issue be?
If you need to diagnose the issue, you should have a mechanic to plug in his scan tools and when this happens, freeze the data and look for the previous data stored in the scan tool. Although in your case, it is not easy to do. The other thing is that there should be an issue with the BCM of your car. Have a mechanic to diagnose the BCM.
Yes, I did have a leaking window when I bought the truck and I immediately replaced but that doesn’t mean it didn’t leak years before I bought it. Thanks for the information.
