I'm a DIY'er not an expert. Scion 2010 XB. Last year I had to add a little freon to get it cooling well. This year I started to do the same thing but the 134 can adapter wasn't good and I ended up accidentally opening the system to the air. So I vaccuumed it for about 20min (?) and it held then I put in 12 oz (It should take 17) and it was cooling great and not cycling. From my understanding that should not have happened. What am I missing?
Oh that'll work with that smaller amount of refrigerant in them. Unless it gets really hot outside like 100 something degrees then it would need extra
@scottykilmer thx for the quick reply. Well, actually, it was 90's with high humidity here in the northeast for the last few days and it started blowing cool in less than a min. Is it ok to leave it as is? If not, what do I need to do? TIA

Scotty doesn't generally revisit topics he has already answered.
If you are satisfied with the performance as-is you can certainly leave it that way. However if you want the best functionality in the hottest weather it should be brought up to specification by adding the necessary amount of refrigerant.
