Hello, I have a 2001 dodge stratus 2 door coupe g vin with a 2351cc 2.4 sohc Mitsubishi engine and I think a f4a42. I had the timing belt/waterpump and they told me they would change everything that needed changed at a shop. When I got it back it was vibrating real bad as the rpms started to reach above maybe 2500rpms. Higher rpm in neutral would make it vibrate so much I'm afraid it's going to throw something. Also it wont go over 50 mph with the rpms going high and not shifting. Automatic transmission slips going into 3rd gear unless I let off the gas around 3000 rpms and it shifts right into gear but still wont go into max gear. Stuck around 50-60 at high rpm kinda like limp mode. I took it back to the shop and they kept it for a few days and told me it was the timing belt cover rubbing the waterpump and that it would go away after some time. I cant exactly prove the transmission issues but the timing belt/waterpump stuff I have reciepts and a witness it was just the timing belt cover and nothing else was wrong with my car mechanical wise. I've only put a little over 3000 miles on it, well over a year now I think. I've been watching the youtube videos scotty posts for awhile and learned alot but I dont have anything to diagnose. I saw one where he lives in the area and maybe thought he might be able to help me out or make a video of my in bad shape treasure lol. My cars never ran the same since I took it there and it never vibrated that bad prior.
Basically the guys that did the work done a crappy job when the timing isn't perfect if it's off even one tooth it will do all that it'll even make it shift bad because the engine isn't running right and that effects on the transmission shifts.
Thank you so much sir. I'm going to try and press them on the issue. I wanted to do it myself but I didnt have the puller, cam lock tool and torque wrench. Also I'm chicken to mess with an interference lol. That video you posted recently about the rubber belts and interference is no joke for me haha. I honestly think I've been messed over. Thank you so much. I love your content.
