Hello. I have a vw passat 1.8 L 4 cylinder engine with 102000 miles. It's using a quart of oil weekly. I pulled the spark plugs to look. The 1st and 4th cylinder spark plugs were oily and the inside of the cylinder was dark and oily. Any way to fix it?

Most likely it's being caused by a leaky valve cover gasket or spark plug tube seal. Likely need to pull the valve covers to reseal everything properly.

As has been said, most likely a leaking rocker/valve cover gasket. Not a crazy difficult job
