Hi Scotty,
Emailing you from New Zealand, we had purchased new Volkswagen Tiguan TSI R-Line 2019, 2,000 cc, 5 years warranty from dealer. After few month of ownership, est 6 months at 8000Km on the clock, the engine light came on showing Engine oil low which I took it to dealer. They had top of the engine oil about 1 liter. I asked them the reason of the problem but no clear answer.
A year later, after complete the first service plan by VW, the low engine oil engine light came back which I took to dealer, again top up engine oil and now they wanted to charge me $50 for the oil which is totally unfair and end up waived the fee. I have looked at other owners of Tiguan with TSI engine and seem to they had similar problem as well.
From your experience, is this normal? what is problem and long term ownership. I am planning to take on the dealership and need your advice.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Juti
It means your engine is worn out and needs to be rebuilt. Return that car and do not ever consider to buy a VW car. Besides engine issues, the automatic transmission and electronics on those care are horrible and you loose your shirt fixing those piles of junk when they age.
+1 @yaser
Crikey!
Save yourself the legal battle, headaches & stress.
The user car market is crazy at the moment. Put up your car for sale & if you get an offer that you like, get rid of it while it runs fine & nothing is broken..
