Hi Scotty >:D<. Hugs from the sunny UK^^.
I've bought a volvo v40, 43k miles, 2014, 1.6 Petrol, Manual, no OBD Codes even with Volvo dealership scan tools. It starts at 1500rpm(?!, not sure that's normal, dealership said it's a safety measure to warm the engine oil for the first 1min then comes back to 800, heard that mazda/ toyota did this in the past so i'm kinda fine with it.) This car has had 3 oil changes, 3 air filters, 3 engine oil filters changed in the last 12months at the dealership(voluntary done by me), and even cold or warm, at idle the engine goes from 800 to 400 500rpm and almost stalls(never happened to be fair), it's like intermittent revs down. No matter the temperature of the engine, changed the fuel to a 99(which is the highest in the UK), mecanic said it's an overkill to change spark plugs at this mileage. Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, thanks for your videos >:D<
I'd take the idle air control valve off and clean it with carb/maf cleaner. Also inspect clean ports of carbon where the valve attaches. Starting cold at 1500 rpm is normal and desired.
