After my car warms up to operating temp and i am cruising about 75mph, I feel it either missing or chugging while accelerating. It does it during acceleration but not deceleration. I just replaced the head gasket, cleaned up the 3 carbon covered pistons, had the head machined with valve guides replaced. plugs looked good and i have a new set of wires coming in the mail.

any other suggestions

thanks and keep your garage clean

I would just complete the tune up and see what happens after that. If the plugs are old, change em'. Also check the ignition coil to see if it's out of spec. You can do that by testing the resistance between the two terminals on the side (should be between 0.52 and 0.76 ohms), and then by testing the terminal in the middle with one of the side terminals (should be between 2.4 to 3.5 k-ohms). Here's where I got the specs: https://www.porscherepair.us/porsche-924-engine/info-ggo.html. Of course I would also check the timing, but do that after you finish the tune up since it might take a little while.
