I'm interested in starting a car project but I'm torn between two vehicles.
A 1960s Volkswagen Beetle or a 1967 Ford Mustang, in your experience as a mechanic for ease of maintenance and part availability which do you suggest?
Thank you for your time I appreciate everything that you do!
You posted your question in somebody else's topic, so I moved it for you. For more information on how to post here, read the post at the top call "Read this first". Thanks.
1967 Mustang all the way. Easy to work on, fully customizable, readily available parts, and it's a Mustang! I mean, Beetles are ok I guess if you are talking the classic ones but for a project, definitely Mustang. (Actually, Mustang > Beetle in every scenario).
I would go with Mustang. Easily available parts and easy to work on. They are collectibles too.
Definitely get the Mustang. The parts are a lot easier to find and you will also sink less money into the Mustang than the beetle.
Unless money is not an issue, the Beetle by far. You can get anything and everything for it at a reasonable price.
Mustang parts are not horrible, but they are more than parts for a bug and the entry price is also much higher.
