Hi Scotty,
I've been following your channel for a long time, its guided me a lot, thanks for that!
In live in a crowded city with crazy traffic (on peak times). So at times, we are waiting for a traffic signal to go green for 5-7 mins and might move forward a bit and again wait.
What should we do during this wait in traffic (5-7 mins)?
1. Hold the brake
2. Put the car in Neutral
3. Put the car in Park
Also does the answer change if it is 10 mins + ?
This question has been asked and answered by you, but there is so much contradicting info from so many mechanics (including youtube channels) that at this point I'm confused as hell.
I drive a Toyota Land Cruiser 2023 (LC300) V6 4.0L paired with a 6 speed auto transmission. (we get that engine option here).
Please clarify this, i don't want to screw up my transmission. I don't mind spending on brake pads.
Thanks
Deepak
Personally I never put my car in neutral when stopped in traffic behind a red light or something, and I've never had any issues with my transmission. The only time I actually put the car in park is when the bridge opens which is never less than a 10 minute wait and it's mainly because I don't feel like keeping my foot on the brake for that long.
