Want to buy a car for myself what do you think about a 2005 CRV?

I found a honda CRV in my home state of Montana. It is a 5spd manual, EX trim, and AWD and has 125,000 miles. I owned a 2004 FWD in the past with an automatic. What do I look for, and is it a reliable vehicle for that kind of weather? Also, would 7,000 dollars be a decent deal for that vehicle since it is at a dealership?

Thanks,

Ian

Manual CR-Vs can last forever with just basic maintenance.

With that said, since it’s a 16yr old vehicle, you want to make sure to have a professional mechanic thoroughly inspect the vehicle, before purchase.

If the engine needs any serious work, walk. The AWD option should greatly improve drivability in inclement weather & harsh terrain.

Price depends on location, but I’d try to get it for closer to $5000.

Thank you, I will try my best with negotiation since dealerships are hard to change their minds haha. I actually know a bunch already about these cars, but just wanted to know if there are any specifics about the manuals that are problems. Thanks for the swift response. Curious if there are any owners with opinions too.

No worries & sure, there will be more replies from other members, soon. Good luck!
