Want to keep a 2014 honda crv, 2.4 lt engine, automatic,,,mileage less than 50,000 km,,,,What can I do or have done to keep it reliable for another 8 years? Ps…if I live that long,,,lol,,,thanking you in advance…great youtube videos!!!!!
I drive a 2015 Honda CRV regularly, same generation as your CRV. It has 100,000+ Miles, which is ~160,000+ Kilometers.
The owner basically keeps up with the basic maintenance: oil changes, tire rotation, cabin filter, air filter, brakes, etc…. Checking to make sure all the fluids are topped off. It’s due soon for a coolant fluid exchange and transmission fluid exchange.
Look into your owners manual, it will tell you the intervals at which to change things.
I assume yours is a CVT? I know many contributors on this site recommend chancing the CVT transmission fluid at half the recommended interval. So let’s say the manual says to do it every 120,000 miles, do it every 60,000 miles. But read your manual.
2014 model year came with 5-speed automatic transmission. Starting with 2015 model year, CVT was introduced on the CRV.
.
And CVT transmission fluids should be changed every 30,000 miles.
GTK.
Change the engine oil, transmission fluid frequently, and perform any additional maintenance as required by the manual.
That's the beauty of an early-mid 2010's Honda, maintenance wise you don't have to do much to make it last.
If you do your own maintenance, or just want to know how to do repairs on your vehicle, consider investing in one of these -
