I wanted to know if anyone might know why hot air comes out of my heater core box and even more comes out when I accelerate? I have a 1990 Chevy 454 ss truck
You set the temperature knob to hot position and the recirculating button is not active, so you get outside air through the heater core.
So would I just have to switch the knob to cold ?
If you want cold air, yes, but the permanent solution to stop the air is to turn on the recirculating button
For those trucks and that year I don’t think they have the recirculating button
If it looks like this, try the OFF button, otherwise, share an image here.
Yes that’s how it looks and I have mine off that’s why idk why hot air comes in
First make sure that this button is for that. You can check the owner’s manual. If this is the one, odds are that the button stopped working. You can open the cluster and check the wires or buy a new one.
Can you post a photo of the present positions of your HVAC knobs/controls?
Ok I will do so as soon as I have a chance
