Hey Scotty, is it ok to wash the engine bay with a garden hose? I’ve read mixed reviews on the internet. Thanks
Sometimes I will rinse away mud and dust, but I don't go too crazy. Be mindful of electronics, the intake etc.
it's safer to go in there with s rag or sponge and just wipe the surfaces you want clean.
just get some wipes from the dollar store and use the wipes to clean the grease and such. or use a bucket of soap and hot water and a sponge and clean off the caked mud.
I've done this numerous times to clean and degrease my engine bays, and I've had zero issues. Of course, just be mindful of where you're spraying the water. Make sure all the fluid caps are on tight, and take it easy on the water around the alternator, ECU, fuse box, and battery. All the electrical connections are water-tight.
You can wash it with a garden hose. It doesn't have much pressure and shouldn't damage anything. If you want to be safe just disconnect the battery and cover the alternator and computer with a garbage bag. Don't overly soak things but you should be fine
Just use a couple of cans of tire cleaner, let it drain and wipe down.
