Hello,
I have a 2016 Lexus RX 350 with 53k miles.
My water pump warrants a replacement soon. After the work, how can I verify that the shop has actually replaced my water pump?

tell them you want to keep the old pump as an emergency spare
By putting a small mark on the housing you can check that they didn't just give you someone else's old pump off of their junk pile.

The pump will go back together in the exact same position it was, or else the bolts won't line up.
Chances that they have the exact same pump lying about ... small.

If you can easily reach the pump housing scribe a small mark on it. Ask for your old part back when the work is done.
