Since 2 years, I have accord coupe 2012 4 cylinders automatic, with 128K miles, its mpg is averaging 17 to 18.

I recently changed air filter and it didn’t improve gas mileage, then just changed the spark plugs same brand was in the car NGK laser iridium. Now gas mileage improved, but the car doesn’t accelerate good, especially when the AC is on. When I hit the gas to get quick acceleration, I hear the engine goes loud, rpm goes high but delayed response.

I have another car Camry 2005 LE, 4 cylinders, automatic, 148k miles with stable gas mileage 21 mpg in city, great acceleration, rpm doesn’t get as high as the Honda, no difference if AC on or off.
