Hello all,
I own an '07 Vibe Manual with 281K on it (170000 miles). I purchased it used in the summer and seemed to get decent gas mileage throughout the summer/fall (26-28 mpg in mixed driving). I changed the spark plugs out in September as they were burnt. Since then, I haven't been getting decent mileage.
It's a 50L tank and I might get 400km-420km in mixed driving if I'm lucky. Tires are decent, and I brakes aren't sticking.
What do you suggest checking?
Thanks

So first of all you need to specify fuel economy in normal numbers that everybody uses. In Canada we use litres per 100 km. (you are mixing miles and km in your question, so I have no idea)
It's very easy. You just divide your 50L x 100 / 420km = 11.9 LHK
Now, you should use the actual volume of gas you see on the pump counter, because you're not actually burning through all 50L in the tank. If you fill up when it gets to empty there there's a reserve of around 100km or 10L, so I'm guessing it's closer to 40L
40 x 100 / 420 = 9.5 LHK
Now go to the government website for fuel economy and look up your car ( https://fcr-ccc.nrcan-rncan.gc.ca/en). You're not that far off for a high mileage car.

Keep in mind the numbers are for brand new cars. Engines deteriorate with age . 170k is a lot of miles. Also realise that fuel stations periodically change the gasoline formulation, depending on where you are and the time of year. You can lose 1-1.5 LHK from this.
