Hi!
Just bought a 2010 used Honda element with 176,430 from a used car dealership. Vehicle runs fine. Though during the idle the rpms pick up randomly and there sounds like a weird spinning or scratching sound that goes away once the rpms drop.
Rpms never exceed 1000 or drop below 600. Typically stays around 750 drops to 620. I'm betting my IAC valve is dirty and needs to be cleaned but can't figure out what the sound I'm hearing is.

These high mileage K series motors have this weird weird screeching noise
Oh okay got ya. If that's what it is, I shouldn't worry about that foretelling something worst.
