2015 Kia Optima LX 73,000
Also should a pcv valve make a noise (midly shaken) even if new?
Always mention year, make, model & mileage of your vehicle, in your opening post.
2015 Kia Optima LX 73,000
Update, I used CRC Intake Valve Cleaner, knock after a week turnd into two soft knocked and took the car for a 400 mile trip That knock is gone, car feels better.. but idk
That’s not good..
All bets are off though since it’s a Kia. They don’t know how to build engines. There are multiple threads on this website with their engines blowing up or making abnormal noises before 75,000 miles.
Yeah its what i fear too, just trying to make it last even if it doesnt want to, but cheaply
If it’s something serious that’s broken, it won’t be cheap to fix. Can you try to pinpoint if the noise is coming from inside/outside the engine or from something else in the engine bay? To your untrained ear. Like a guesstimate. Because if it’s from inside your engine, I’d sell it as fast as I could.
okay so i had someone turn it off for me and it seems to be coming from around the throttle body, i just changed the pcv valve and now i am hearing a ticking noise from my high pressure fuel pump(lol). still no check engine lights.
Have it looked at by a specialist Kia mechanic. You want to find it & check if it’s a major/minor problem & take a decision based on that. It sounds like a moving part coming to a stop.
A good pcv will rattle when shaken
You'll find out, soon enough, whether the PCV was the problem, or the symptom.
Yes..pcv if you shake it, it will rattle. It's basically a check valve. As for the video, yikes, that's scary, not good at all, but it is a Kia
@yahear Are you the original owner & do you have a warranty on the vehicle?
