I own a 2012 Forester manual (170k miles). Check engine light came on with a P0328 code. I cleared it with my scan tool but it came on again a few days later. I dont hear any knock or undue vibrations from the engine and gas mileage is better than it was a few months ago. I plan on replacing spark plugs and coil boots as part of the 175k maintenance. I will also replace the knock sensor. Anything else I should be looking at?
Is it safe to drive the car with this code?
Thanks

That is the expected behavior if the underlying problem is not repaired.

High-speed preignition is not always audible, but it is damaging nonetheless.
I will also replace the knock sensor.
You might want to test it first, but if inexpensive you might as well replace it. Be sure to use an OEM sensor since aftermarket units can be sketchy.

Have you looked the code up to see the various potential causes?

UPDATE: I replaced the spark plugs and ignition coils. Discovered that there was a frayed grounding braid and replaced that too. car ran without issues for about 2 weeks and yesterday the CEL came back on with the same code. What should I be checking next?
