In some vehicles, you’ll see these little sticks pop up next to the window when you unlock the door, and it goes back in when you lock it. What is this for??
*sigh* millennials ...

x1000.
That would be part of the lock mechanism, so you can lock or unlock the doors from the inside....
Thank you for actually being helpful.
Before we had power door locks at the push of the button or electronic actuator, we had to actually pull those sticks to unlock and lock the door.
apparently that answer isn't accepted (view the comments on my post below)
I believe Mercedes used to have power sticks. If you pulled on the drivers side stick, it would unlock everything.
that's where you hang you're purse
Before the era of power locks on mainstream cars, you would manually lock and unlock the doors with those 'sticks.'
you mean power locks?
Some cars had power locks AND the "sticks"
A lot of cars still do it that way. Central locking with ‘sticks’.
@inthrustwetrust
Really? I haven't seen any of this year of last years models with it here in the states, or tbh any compact size+ car in the last 10 years.
Of course the Ford has it. Can't trust any part of their vehicle to work can you?
I don't look much at brand new trucks but fair enough.
