Hello! I am looking at purchasing a 2017 Lexus GX460. It looks quite clean and has no obvious maintenance issue from the car report. It is higher mileage than I was originally looking for (90k +) but I've read that these are very solid vehicles and 90k miles is not that much for the Toyota 4.6 V8.
You can't trust the "car report" to tell you everything. You need a good mechanic to examine the vehicle before purchase.
They are solid vehicles, but it's still a luxury SUV which means it will be a money pit as it ages.
V8 engines are also costly to work on and pigs on gas.

Toyota 4.6 V8 1UR-FE Engine Problems and Reliability
Despite the fact that the new engine has nothing similar with the 2UZ-FE, they have joint problems. The water pump is still a source of leaks and issues. It has a short life - 60,000 miles (100,000 km), and it's gone. Sometimes the hydraulic chain tensioner fails, loosening the timing chain tension. In the early years of production, the engine was equipped with too thin unreliable valve springs. Some owners complain about increased oil consumption - up to 0.5 liters per 1000 miles. But in the rest, the 1UR-FE engine has excellent longevity and durability, almost the same as the 2UZ-FE.
