What do you guys think about the ‘09 lexus is 250?

I test drove the 2009 is 250 which was at a local dealer. The interior is pristine and the drive was pretty smooth too. Only downside I see is that the car has 170k miles on it. Their asking price is $9991 . Is this a good deal or should I shop around more? I have seen a few private listings but they weren’t much impressive.

More background: I currently drive a ‘02 es 300 which has 180k miles on it. My car is in great shape only reason I am contemplating selling it now is because I had to replace the radiator, cat converter, knock sensors and timing belt. Although now I don’t have any issues I can’t help but think I may face more issues and I am replacing parts which cost more than the car value.

FYI: My location is SJ, CA

Good car but the price is too high.

@yaser What would you pay for it?

The price depends on the local market. I don't pay that much for that car but the market is crazy now. If you can, wait for the market to be stable.

I’m with @yaser

Hold onto your present car if it’s running fine. Who's to say this 12yr old Lexus won’t have similar issues, owing to its high mileage?

Even Scotty recommends to hold onto (or fix) your current vehicle, thanks to the used car market in these times..

That’s really sound advice. I didn’t think of it this way. Thanks

You’re welcome

What do you think of the 2009 es 350 with 105k miles? I test drove it today and I see maintenance on it done every 5k miles on carfax. It’s on sale from a private seller for $8900.
