Ive been looking to buy a used 2019 Honda Civic online and was wondering if it was worth it to look at Carvana or Vroom. Ideally I'd like to test drive it but I have no clue how delivery services like this would work that out.
I would also look at Carmax because I heard that Carmax has more clean cars while Carvana doesn't really care about the conditon and sends it as is. You will pay premium but if you are fine with the price and they have a return policy then why not just get it have a mechanic check it out and you could have a nice clean car.
That’s a good point @Kerem. And now they deliver to your home just like those other online car services! Sometimes it’s free; other times you pay a fee depending how far the vehicle is. But as long as Carmax is around you it should be free.
They have a bigger inventory, and if you buy and don’t like (or mechanic says No) then you can drive it to the CarMax dealer lot and return it (within 7 days as well).
This will be my opinion, but I am OK with them, and fine to use, but realize you will usually pay a pretty premium over private sale and/or dealerships. Also the price is firm, no negotiation, which some people like, but if you are on a tight budget and every penny matters it may not be for you.
I’ve had many friends and coworkers use them with no issues, and I would not hesitate to use them myself, but their/my situation might be different than yours. You have up to 7 days to return the car and you still want a good mechanic to inspect them. They claim they did all the inspection and only sell top-notch vehicles, but you have to have a mechanic verify still.
They are still growing so their inventory is less and you may not find the vehicle you want.
Wether it’s carvana or carmax they aren’t terrible I would just highly recommend getting the extended warranty. Neither of them have the greatest cars off the rip. I see a lot of cars come from those places with issues but there warranty companies they use are surprisingly very good. Gotta figure carvana doesn’t really have any repair facilities and carmax does not do a a lot of larger work it’s only safety checks and larger stuff gets subbed out
