Good Afternoon Scotty,
Hope all is well down south!
I am having a problem with my A/C. When I turn the controls for the A/C, it blows ambiewnt temp air. Here is what I did:
-I scanned the computer, no codes
-I observed the compressor, doesn't engage
- When I turn the heater to full blast, it hardly blows the heat
What the heck is going on here
Since you're not even getting good heat that suggests a problem with the electronics. Unfortunately with modern cars it is not enough for the mechanical parts of the system to be in good condition as in decades past, the electronics have to work as well. A dealer-level scan tool is needed to communicate with and test the modules that control the HVAC.
One thing you can do is hook up a manifold gauge set and see if there's enough refrigerant in the system for the compressor to engage. (If you don't have a gauge set a parts store near you may loan them out.) Typically at least 20 psi is needed or the low-pressure cutout will turn off the compressor to protect it from damage. Please note that you cannot judge the refrigerant level by static pressure but you can see if there's at least enough for the compressor to run.
