In my opinion I think hydrogen fuel cells cars will definitely be the future; however, I don't know if I like Toyota teaming with Chevron.

I like the idea better than batteries. But who knows. Nobody can predict the future.

It’s hard to tell, because things can change in a whim.

With that said. Although there has been tons of concepts across makes, only Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai have one hydrogen model each in production. And very few are planned for the future.

With EV’s, more makes have announced plans to move toward EV’s rather than hydrogen fuel cell: VW, GM, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Ford, BMW, Porsche, Mercedes...

To be perfectly honest I don't see any good reason for a massive change to electric vehicles no matter how they are powered. However as mountainmanjoe states hydrogen is probably better than batteries for the vehicle owner. Trouble is there is zero distribution network for hydrogen. Building one from scratch to rival the perfectly good distribution setup we have for fossil fuels would be a huge, enormously expensive undertaking.

Hydrogen would be an awesome alternate fuel if we can just figure out an environmentally friendly way to make it. I believe Hydrogen will be the future. Batteries clearly aren't and the sooner we get away from fossil fuels, the better.
