My mom has a 2014 subaru outback with 113624 miles on the clock and it recently i heard a grinding noise under the car when we started to turn right. Could it be the all wheel drive system grinding for some reason?

Check your wheel bearings.

It sounds like it's coming from the front of the engine, not from the side though

You did not specify where the sound was coming from beyond "under the car". Noises can telegraph all over a car and can be difficult to pinpoint. Noise when turning is a typical symptom of a worn wheel bearing and that's something easy to check. (Hopefully the problem is something like that rather than a worn differential or CVT.) You can also check the CV joints, but those usually make clicking rather than grinding sounds when turning when they wear out.

What else can you tell us about the noise? What are the specific conditions that cause it to happen? Does it vary with engine speed? With road speed? With transmission ratio? Is there a foreign object stuck under the car making noise?

I'll see if i can get a video recording of the noise and i'll double check if there's any debris under the frame that's potentially causing the noise
