All Tacos retain their value very well, and are all reliable for the most part, add that to the inflation price (+10iah% yay covid) and you got the current market not just for what you are looking for but every car currently on market. At the end of the day it's up to you.

Frame rust is by far the only major issue as it extends pretty far down from 1995-2010 I believe. Besides this, some have that infamous takata airbag recall(s) as well. As long as both these things check out any year will be good. Just know that with an 80s and plan to literally going to be daily driving, that is a 30-40 year old car, so all the issues that relate to its age can pop up too, crusty wires and other plastics and rubbers, surface rust, Ect. Of course before you go out to get one see if you can get a mechanic to check it out for you.
