Hey Scotty! My dream car is an Audi A8 W12. Since Audi doesn’t make the 12 cylinder model anymore, what is your advice on purchasing a used Audi with a 12 cylinder engine?

If you have to ask, you can't afford it.

That's not exactly a common car in the states. The costs of repairs will quickly supersede your love for the car.

Unless you are quite wealthy - to the point where continually throwing thousands of dollars in repairs and maintenance is like pocket change to you - the best advice is to not buy one.

However if you can afford it, in the immortal words of Max Bialystock...

Scotty may say:  run, don't walk!  Consider a Toyota or a Honda which will give you many, many more miles over time!!!

Dang those w12 engines are cool but a nightmare to fix and even more so when it's old. and any used audi in general is expensive to repair as is, add in the w12 and you have more than an endless money pit, you have a sinkhole. if you've got a lot of money to burn, do it, and let us know how it goes. otherwise my advice is don't get one at all

Scotty's advice is posted at the bottom of our front page.

It's probably "run".

Not run, it’s “run, don’t walk!” 😆

What about the 24 Audi S7? Have one about to go to build.

again, endless money pit waiting to happen, but if you've got the money...
